I'm Andrew McClam. I've been a real estate investor and house flipper for 8 years, with more than 500 deals in 26 states. My home base is South Carolina.

On a flip, the appraisal can make or break the deal. Over the years, a number of my houses came in well below the contract price. When I read those reports closely, I kept finding things the appraiser could fairly be asked about: a better sale that wasn't used, a figure that didn't match the rest of the report, a fact that was simply off.

So I learned to ask. Politely, through the lender, using the report's own numbers. More than once, the appraiser took another look and the value went up.

I built Appraisal Fighter to do that work on my own deals. It quickly became clear that buyers, sellers and agents run into the same problem every day, and most don't know that federal rules give the borrower the right to request a reconsideration of value. I wanted to give them the best possible shot.

Our goal is for the service to pay for itself when the value goes up. We can't promise that: the appraiser and the lender decide. But we can make sure your request is honest, clear and as strong as the facts allow.

Power to the people.
